Handwoven Scarf (90)
The warp, the threads running the long way of the material, is of a cotton flake that is a mixture of tan, pink and burgundy. Most of the weft, the threads running crossways, is of a chunkier white, very soft cotton. There are two stripes on each end of the scarf designed using the same threads as the warp. This scarf is medium weight and equally appropriate for winter or warmer seasons, especially created for those of you who are sensitive to wool. Measuring 8 inches wide and 72 inches long, each end sports a French twisted 6 inch fringe. In between the body of the scarf and the fringe, you will find a hand hemstitched detail that is accomplished while still on the loom. Care is easy: handwash in cool water with mild soap, rinse well, wring dry and squeeze the excess water out between two terry towels. Line dry. I have touched this up with a steam iron for a smoother look.
