Handwoven Shawl (O29)
Woven of deliciously dyed wool from Prince Edward Island and heavenly soft cotton, this shawl is the perfect combination of insulated warmth and soft-to-the-skin fibers. It is fairly heavy weight and determined to keep off the drafts! Cream and black raspberry colors, randomly spaced in both the warp and the weft, give this an overall relaxed look. It measures 16 and a half by 66 inches and each end sports a handknotted detail, followed by a French twisted fringe of about 7 inches. It has been handwashed, the moisture squeezed out between two terry towels and line dried. I did gently steam it to give it a smoother appearance. I also used a tiny bit of fabric softener in the rinse water for that yummy feeling that calls for a cold day, a steaming cup of tea and a good book!
